Project Description

Who says compact bath design can’t be down right stunning? Lush matchbook marble panels meet patina kissed brass fixtures in a striking example of custom small space living.

Interior Designer Laurie Blumenfeld-Russo recently shared the story of her own bath with ASPIRE Design and Home. “I knew I wanted a marble bath. I was inspired by the marble baths when on a recent trip to Italy. I knew my renovation needed to embrace a similar design. I did a fair amount of hunting, researching and dreaming. Eventually, I visited New York Stone on West 21st, and there it was, Calacatta Cielo Marble imported from Italy, boasting bold and beautiful striations in shades of Azule, sky blue, carmel, gray and brown! After much conversation with the owner of New York Stone, I learned that in 30 years of the marble business, he had never seen a slab with these colors. That was it for me, sold! I worked with the marble installer to create the perfect book match in the shower and to feature the blue stripe running through the middle of the entire space… I chose unlacquered brass fittings from Newport Brass to keep the organic design scheme.”
